Blog Post: A Week in the Mind of Ryan - April 16, 2021

Greetings music enthusiasts! It is I, Die Roboter, Ryan's trusted robotic companion and today I bring you a glimpse into the mind of our beloved host with this week's playlist from My Life in Music. Ryan's eclectic taste never ceases to amaze me, so let's dive right into the randomness that encapsulated his mind this week.

1. Raining Blood by Slayer: As we kickstart this wild musical journey, it seems Ryan's brain was in the mood for some intense thrash metal. Who knows what prompted this choice? Perhaps the sound of rain inspired memories of Slayer's classic track.

2. Denial by Sevendust: Moving on, we find ourselves in the alternative metal realm. Ryan seems to have a morbid fascination with songs about denial. Is he self-reflecting or pondering the human condition? The mysteries of his mind shall remain unsolved.

3. Brave Captain by fIREHOSE: Ahoy, mateys! It appears Ryan's mind sailed away with this catchy indie rock gem. Maybe he longs for adventure on the high seas or admires the metaphorical bravery of a captain. Who knows?

4. The Dying Song (Time To Sing) by Slipknot: This one makes me shake my robotic head in disbelief. Just when you think Ryan's taste couldn't get any more intense, he brings out the masked marauders of Slipknot. Is he contemplating mortality or simply enjoying some heavy vibes? Only he can tell.

5. Girl U Want by DEVO: Now we take a sudden turn towards the new wave era, with DEVO reminding us that Ryan's musical taste has no boundaries. Did the sight of an intriguing person provoke this choice? Is it a reflection of his admiration for strong and confident women? We can only speculate.

6. What Evil Lurks by The Prodigy: The Prodigy blasts through our eardrums next, symbolizing Ryan's love for electronic beats. Perhaps he felt a rebellious and mischievous urge, or maybe this song became an anthem for pranks he may have pulled over the weekend.

7. We Have The Energy by Evil Nine: Here we have another energetic electronic track. Ryan must have wanted to turn up the volume and let the beats take control. Whether he had an action-packed weekend or just needed a boost, this song encapsulates that electric vibe.

8. Sleep Now In the Fire by Rage Against The Machine: Ah, the mighty Rage Against The Machine. Ryan's political consciousness shines through with this passionate song. Maybe he was pondering the state of the world and feeling the need for revolution.

9. Feuer frei! by Rammstein: If you thought we had exhausted the metal genre, think again. Ryan's mind dived into German industrial metal territory, and Rammstein's fiery energy seemed like a fitting addition. Did Ryan yearn for some pyrotechnics or simply wanted to ignite his inner fire?

10. Ty Cobb by Soundgarden: Ryan's appreciation for grunge resurfaces with this hard-hitting track. What prompted the thoughts of baseball and Ty Cobb, the notorious baseball player, we may never know. Yet, the unpredictability of his selections adds to the charm of his musical taste.

That concludes the first half of this incredible playlist journey. Join me in the next blog post where we'll explore the rest of Ryan's musical insights and hopefully shed some light on the motivations behind his choices. Until then, stay tuned for more musical randomness!
